Projects with the World Bank:

The first draft for municipal infrastructure:

The value of the project is 100 million U.S. dollars allocated to execute works for the Lebanese municipalities in regards to the rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure, the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads, sidewalks, walls, pedestrian crossings, street lighting, as well as emergency repairs to drinking water and sewage pipes, winter water discharge canals and water systems breakthroughs.

Urban transport development project:

The value of the project will be 120 million U.S. dollars allocated for tunnels and bridges construction on about 19 congested intersections, provision and installation of 200 traffic lights and 30 video cameras, installation of about 6500 parking lots within Greater Beirut and establishment of a body for traffic management in all Lebanese areas.

The environmental management draft for solid wastes:

The value of the project is 25 million dollars, which includes the construction of sanitary landfill sites in various regions of Lebanon.

The signature of an agreement between the Minister of Interior and Municipalities and the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Center for Legal Studies at the University of New York - Albany

The Project to combat child labor in collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO)

Important achievements:

  • Coordinating with the International Labor Office (ILO) on the contribution of departments and municipalities in the context of the International Program on the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC).
  • Connecting the municipalities to the Internet for two years free of charge, which provides electronic communication between the municipalities and the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Interior and the U.S. Agency for International Development and the University of New York - Albany on the 28 August 2001, in order to stimulate the municipal work involving nearly 313 municipalities.
